Credit card payments aren't working. What can I do?

If your credit card payment doesn't go through, it's usually due to one of the following reasons: incorrect information, 3D Secure verification, a low credit limit or insufficient funds, the card isn't enabled for online payments, or the bank is blocking the transaction as unusual. Check these points—or try using a different payment method.

Checklist: Common Causes

1) Check map data

  • Is the credit card number correct?
  • Is the expiration date correct?
  • Is the CVC/CVV correct?

2) 3D Secure / Strong Customer Authentication

Many payments require additional confirmation (e.g., via a banking app, text message, or push notification). Check:

  • whether the confirmation has been opened or closed
  • whether a pop-up blocker or very strict browser protection is blocking the redirect

3) Limits, Coverage & Card Type

  • Have you reached your daily/weekly/monthly limit?
  • For debit cards: Is there sufficient balance/funds available?
  • Is your card blocked or expired?

4) Are online and international payments enabled?

Some cards are not enabled for online payments or certain currencies by default.

5) Bank detects "unusual activity"

Banks sometimes block transactions for security reasons, especially when it comes to first-time online payments or larger amounts. In such cases, it often helps to:

  • Try the payment again
  • or simply check with your bank or credit card company to see if the payment can be approved

What can I try right away?

  • Switch browsers or use incognito mode
  • Temporarily disable pop-up blockers/tracking protection
  • Restart the transaction/project (reopen the checkout)
