Yes, that’s usually normal: When you back a project, your payment method is often verified briefly first (e.g., with a €0 charge or a very small hold). The actual amount isn’t charged until after the funding period ends—and only if the project was successful.
Why do I see €0 (or €0–1) listed under my payment method?
Crowdfunding works differently from a typical online store:
- When making a donation, the system first checks whether your payment method is valid.
- Instead, a €0 authorization or a small hold (approx. €0–1) may appear.
When will the amount actually be debited?
- The total amount of your contribution will not be charged until the funding campaign has successfully concluded.
- If the project does not reach its goal (depending on the type of campaign), payment is generally not charged.
Tip
If you later realize that your payment method has changed (new card, account, etc.), you can update it in the support details before the payment is processed.
