When and how do I provide information about the right of withdrawal?

If you offer rewards (products/services), you should inform your supporters of their right to cancel no later than before or at the time of delivery—preferably in writing.

Two proven approaches

You basically have two simple options:

  1. 1By email before shipping the thank-you gifts (e.g., along with shipping information)
  2. 2Included as a printed insert in the package/with the delivery

What should the information include?

  • Notice Regarding the Right of Withdrawal
  • Time limit (e.g., 14 days – depending on the case)
  • How to exercise your right of withdrawal (contact address/email)
  • a sample withdrawal form, if applicable

Important

This is general guidance and not legal advice. The specific rules that apply depend, among other things, on whether you are acting as a business owner and what you are offering as a thank-you gift.
