Insiders support your project without being team members. They do not have editing access to your project interface and do not take up a team member slot.
Making Effective Use of Insiders
Insiders can view your project while it's still in draft form and leave feedback on the wall. Their posts are marked with the "Insider" role.
You can also publish blog posts exclusively for Insiders. When you first publish such a post, an email is sent to the selected audience.
By accepting the invitation, the person will also be listed as a fan of the project. This will not reactivate any project news that has already been unsubscribed from.
Invite Insiders
- Open your project interface and go to Team.
- Open the Insider section and send an invitation.
- Select the "Insider" role and enter the email addresses. You can invite up to 50 people per invitation round.
- If necessary, add a personal message and send out the invitations.
Team members can also invite Insiders. Project creators can edit the invitation template in the Insider section's settings. A message that you customize directly when sending an invitation applies only to that round of invitations.
The invited person accepts the invitation via a link in the email that is valid for 48 hours. An existing Startnext account is not required. You can resend expired invitations in Team Management.
Insider invitations are available with all plans.
Manage Insiders and New Hires
Open the Project Interface → Team → Insiders to view accepted and pending invitations. There, you can revoke individual Insiders' access to the draft project page.
This only ends early access to the draft. The person remains an insider.
Reserve Insider Thank-You Gifts for the Funding Launch
You can use a power-up to reserve select thank-you gifts for Insiders. The booking window begins when funding starts and lasts 72 hours.
During this time, the thank-you gift remains visible to everyone, but only logged-in Insiders of this project can book it. Other visitors will see that it is reserved for Insiders and when it is expected to become bookable for everyone. After 72 hours, the regular availability rules apply. If no further sales are to be allowed after that, you must adjust the inventory accordingly.
Invite former subscribers as Insiders
Starting with the Pro plan, you can invite subscribers from your own previous successful projects to become Insiders. To do this, select the previous projects and review the recipients and the number of invitations before sending them.
People with an active news subscription to the previous project will receive the invitation by email. Those who have unsubscribed from the project news will see the invitation in their profile instead.
