Once your funding campaign ends, contributions will be collected, outstanding payments will be settled, and the total amount raised will be disbursed. In this article, you’ll learn when you can expect the disbursement and where to find the invoice from Startnext as well as the funding receipt for your project.
When will my funding amount be paid out?
Once everything is complete, the funds will typically be deposited into your designated payout account within about 14 to 21 days after the end of the funding period.
There are several steps between the end of the project and payment:
- Final Review: Startnext and Stripe verify that the requirements for collection and disbursement have been met. Depending on the funding amount, Stripe may request additional information or documents.
- Payment of Benefits: As soon as the necessary requirements are met, the benefits will be paid.
- Information for supporters: Supporters will be notified when the direct debit process begins. If a payment fails, they will receive a notification and can correct their payment information if necessary.
- Resolving Outstanding Payments: Failed direct debits, expired cards, or other outstanding payments will be retried or resolved.
- Deduction of Fees: Any applicable platform and payment fees will be deducted before the payout.
- Withdrawal: The remaining withdrawal amount will be transferred to the withdrawal account you have on file.
What could delay my payout?
Common reasons include:
- unresolved issues or questions regarding verification of identity,
- missing or unclear identification documents,
- many failed attempts to deposit,
- outstanding payments that still need to be resolved,
- a payout account whose account holder does not match the authorized person or organization,
- Additional reviews by Stripe based on the funding amount or risk profile.
You can check the current status in the project interface → Contract → Verification. The notes displayed there will indicate whether you need to take action or whether Stripe is already reviewing the data you've submitted.
Where can I find the invoice and funding receipt for my project?
After the payout, you'll find the invoice from Startnext and the funding receipt in the project interface → Crowd & Funding → Funding Statistics. You can download both documents there.
The final documents are not yet available prior to disbursement. Until then, the funding amount may still change, for example due to:
- Cancellations,
- failed feed attempts,
- subsequent corrections to payment information,
- the resolution of outstanding payments.
Only once the funds are disbursed are the final funding amount, the deducted costs, and the correct supporting documentation finalized.
