Generally speaking, no: Once you’ve launched a successful project (and there are backers and transactions associated with it), your account cannot simply be deleted entirely, because we are legally required to retain certain project and transaction data for a certain period of time.
You can anonymize your user profile. Additionally, depending on the project status, you can use the visibility/hide feature for your project.
Then why can't I delete my account?
Successful projects have generated data that is subject to legal requirements (e.g., order, support, and transaction data). As a platform, we are required to retain this data for specific statutory periods.
What is the alternative to deleting?
1) Anonymize user profile
If you no longer want your name to appear on Startnext, anonymization is the best option. This will make your profile appear "deleted" without losing any legally required data.
2) Hide project / Restrict visibility
If you no longer want to display your project publicly, you can use the "Hide" feature or visibility settings, depending on the project's status.
